My suggestion for a team name would have been "bush_meat" for those who don't know that's ROASTED PRIMATE!

I recently heard mention of "creamsicles" as a collective name? Different variations also suggested for our team for the CC. Apparently, that's a nickname dubbed to the MaxPC team by the w[H]ores.

I kind of like that name in the spirit of this new collective rivalry, which is sure to drive this team into overtaking the little w[H]ores. I really couldn't think of a better way of driving a stake into them than by this new user name driving the team to the overtake......

.....and putting some monkey tails between their legs!

Well, trying to out-ppd them could cause a perpetual race, or more likely a really short one . And tackling their total points from scratch with a 34 million deficit is a little ambitious, unless you want to go in for the long-haul. A timelier approach would be something like a week or month long race, where the most points within that time wins. Basically Chimp Challenge style except with a time-frame instead of a point-goal.

With bbies, yoda, whutshisname, avanish and myself, that's just about 70k PPD. If Newbie was in, 87k, and I believe Gigabyte said somewhere he wouldn't mind stirring up the monkeys. He would have us at a respectable 142K, only 10K shy of the monkey's current output. It's a little early to start talking rules and stuff with CC still around the corner, but do you think the Creamsicles (tentative) should have some kind of member cap or recruit requirements? Or just a free-for-all, pick your side, throwdown?

Heh, I think we need to have this discussion after the challenge. People will be adding points and machines just for this challenge, myself included. You may be in for a bigger shock than you think.

However, I do think that we should keep this race close. I'm not concerned with the number of users, but I think we should keep the PPD somewhat close. Are you guys in this for the long haul or just for a week or two of fun? That may have some bearing on our thoughts as well.

I got my linux running buttery smooth and before and after this race its gonna run.

I have a second pc that Im about to set up linux on, thats this weekends project. so I should be able to add a few more thousand points a day with the 2 running.

Damn all this talk about Creamsicles is making me hungry....

As for a duration, I say we go atleast until Max PC overtakes the w[h]ores! Although I'm positive that we're going to be having so much fun that we'll keep it going even longer.

Another reason why having this collective will be good for the team - look at how may top 20 spots will open up for other members

I think after the challenge is over and you all see how much PPD we really added you will change your minds. Remember, if we can do it once we can do it again.
