Damn, I really can't wait until Q4. I need a new laptop soon. But that looks sweet.

Good.

I've got $4k sitting in a CD, that's waiting for this beast to come out. I nearly pulled the trigger on the D901C but then decided I needed the eSATA and HDMI ports on the D90xF, plus the ability to stick 16GB of RAM into it.

At least we've finally got a timeline on this beast.

Enjoy your whopping 30 minutes of battery life with it too.

Battery? what battery?

Are you reffering to the built in UPS?

:P

Who really cares about battery? My laptop as it is won't run without the umbilical cord. I've been used to it. And I prefer it plugged in for gaming any ways.

One more month till the official release, if we're lucky the resellers will get them by June/July.

I think I'm going to dump Pro-Star in favor of Sager. As much as I like Pro-Star, Sager's got the no dead pixel policy which I'd really really like.

It's almost official

Sager pulled the D900C off of their site and Pro-Star is only selling it with a very limited number of options, it's only a matter of days now before we see the new monster D900F laptop

:D

I've got the cash ready and waiting for it to come out.

This monster will be replacing my 8 year old monster Clevo 8500V, which 90% of my posts here (and back at Delphuck) were done on. I was originally planning on getting the D900C, but then I realized I needed HDMI and eSATA.

My old 8500V did require surgery a few years ago (embedded pics in the post were deleted when AOL discontinued member FTP/WWW space last October), but it's been solid since.

Yup, that's been the standard for the D900 series since they came out a while back. Stick a nice 320GB 7200 RPM drive for the OS and Apps, then have two 5400 RPM drives for data.

When SSD's pass 2.5" magnetic drives in terms of capacity I'll upgrade to them.

I really want to preorder this monster right now but I'm bummed that the Panasonic/Matsushita Blu-Ray burner listed with the D900C is not an option, otherwise I would have ordered already.

Looks like the only place you can get that burner at the moment is either Taiwan or Hong Kong.

Or you could get 2 small SLC SSDs in RAID0 for the OS/apps and then a single 500GB hard drive as backup. That would be awesome.

Couldn't you buy that burner off of ebay or something?

I tried eBay already, the only two people selling it were located in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

and I'm guessing that it would cost to much to have it shipped here?

No, I just don't trust the sellers.
