NIIICE, i put a bloo led in my logitech mouse, but it's not nearly as bright as even your pictures, i guess im gonna have to piggy back another LED onto the 1 i got in there. but very nice looking mod.

now all 3 of my mice have blue LEDs in them , my MX700 has a blue instead of red LED(gets better battery life) and my optical wheel mouse has 2 blue LEDs(the 2nd just for shits and giggles) and now my puck mouse which is really fucking bright.

heres where i got the LEDs from

WOWZERS! That is bad ass! Now if I could only do that to my keyboard, I could work in the dark!

if i were to get a lighted keyboard, i would buy a premade 1. they look a lot better IMO, but the modded mice r the shit.

If you will put a bit more "how-to" in this thread (maybe even edit it into the first post) and some better pics, I will post this in the "Modder's Source List"

Also, I think you went over the max image width and broke the forum frame. Chams is very nit-picky about that so you might want to change your photo-bucket images to 600 pix wide or less.

Nice job BTW

Hey... we might have to look into modding one of my keyboards while you are down here. Warning, I suck at this kind of thing though!

Also, if we able to do the Palomar thing during the day, we might be able to go to the world's largest amateur telescope near there (just happens to be an alum from my school!). Or, we could take the Cave down to Joshua Tree, which has some nice dark skies, and play around with that web cam of yours. :)

That just gave me a great idea.... looks over at a pair of boxers. She is going to flip when I open that little hole in the front and all that blue light comes pouring out... :)

pics can be up to 640pix wide i will consider posting a guide as best as i can tomorow when i am still awake. it will be semi hard cause i had to pull my keyboard apart in more than one way and it took lots of dremeling on the keys themselves

Chams must have changed the width rule - it was 600 pixels before. Good eye - and some of us eagerly await that howto. ;)

Hmm....640 is right - the point was not to break the frame - but if 640 is what he says, then 640 is what he gets.

DOn't worry to much about the keyboard - focus on the mouse. This is new, so we are not looking for a perfect step by step. Even if you don't put much more in I willl likely link the thread in the MRL

here is the normal mouse
Image

and the nice little screw driver that i used

here is the back of the mouse
Image

the two screws are circled in red

Image
this is how the LEDs are connected to the power, i used 3.7V LEDs so i used a 68 Ohm Reistor since the power on the mouse is 5V from the computers USB.

Image

since i added the LEDs and resistors it made clicking almost imposible so i removed a section of the the back of the button, since it extended around the back of the mouse.

and then i plugged it in and i got this
Image

i'm sorry about the blurry pics i took low quality ones instead ones that i would have to shrink down.
