Pidgen does not support a web cam. I tried. I'm not sure I would class skype as an IM client. More importantly what I really need, and didn't specify, is Yahoo IM support. The overwheiming majority of the people I chat with use Yahoo accounts.

not to be obstinate...but back in 2001...my wife and I bought a 64 megabyte HP computer from Wal~Mart that came with their version of ME.
Still one of my favorite computers and OS's to this day.
Yeah ME was worrisome..but it pointed towards what would become Windows XP. It took windows 98, added better USB support, and itroduced the nifty System Restore feature.

Actually, Glenn ... Windows ME was the nail in the Win9x coffin. MS ditched that kernel completely after ME and switched to Windows 2K (which became XP for home use).

Anyway ... let's put this thread back in the grave where it belongs. ;)
