I thinking about going into the IT field I was wondering what are the best certifications to get? Any how best to start out?

A friend told me that I shou get A+ N+ the look into MCSA and MCSE

How much would it cost and how much time would it take to complete that?

would be getting certified in VmWare or Hyper-V be useful?

Is that even the best route to go?

Is your situation different from the 20 other posts on this topic? If not, read them. If so, let us know how your situation is different so we don't just cut and paste the same answers into every thread.

http://www.maximumpc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=82343 is a post on your question. That's what Jip meant when he asked if you have a different situation than what has already been posted.

Well I know that the multi post about the same question in the education and cetification section of the forum can be rather annoying but if you don't want to answer a question then you don't have to be nasty about it. Jeez.

I haven't even started to be nasty.

Do those other threads not answer your question? If not ... what else do you need to know?

Ask a general question that has been addressed dozens of times and you'll get a generic smackdown.

Here is an answer to your question: IT is about problem solving. You have a problem .. you need to learn to solve it.

Do some research. Exercise your brain. Ask SPECIFIC questions.

3rdegreeBurn, you are looking for Jip to be nasty.

That is not nasty, at all.

He just doesn't want to type out the same exact answers that have been typed in several other threads.

I'm not even sure what you are looking for exactly. You need a degree in IT and certifications. Certifications are nice, but you need some sort of education too.

A+ you should be able to complete rather easily (About $300 for the test) and with just a little bit more effort the N+. The others MCSA and MCSE will take a bit more work.

I wouldn't get any certifications in VMware or Hyper-V to be honest. Those are specific programs and you will likely end up using them on a day-to-day basis anyways. If you want to get any certification like this, go towards Server+ or another advanced server related certification.

Other than that, you haven't provided any information that wasn't already in the other threads, so I suggest you go read them.

It was a fucking hint, asshole.

You are going to continue being a complete fucking failure until you learn to sack up and do your own fucking work.

Why should we retype the same answer over and over? Because you're too fucking lazy to search? Because you're too fucking priceless to do your own work?

Grow the fuck up. All the information you need is right here and all you can do is whine about people being nasty. You keep this shit up and I'll get nasty.

Little word to the wise while you're still around. Don't sass the moderator's. It's not good for your health. And yes, Jip was right. There are several posts like yours right here on the first page. I'll give you the fact that our search engine isn't the best and can lead to frustration very quickly.

Again, grow up. Stop asking other people to do your work for you.

You want to be in IT and you can't perform a simple search? Choose another field.

Here's another hint for you, sparkles: every single one of my posts asked you a question. I'm going to ask it again. I'm going to ask it in such a way that even a single-celled organism can figure it out.

IF YOU DIDN'T FIND WHAT YOU WERE LOOKING FOR IN PREVIOUS POSTS, ASK A SPECIFIC QUESTION AND WE'LL ANSWER IT.

Is that so hard? If you didn't find what you were looking for, ask.

"How do I get into IT?" is almost as intelligent a question as "What car should I buy?"

Narrow it down, think for yourself, do your own legwork .. or get the fuck out

The problem is that you are too fucking stupid to use the internet. Problem solved. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

I do enjoy the fact that you are still blaming ME for the fact that YOU can't read.

Ask a specific question. Something not covered ad nauseum in this folder. If that is too hard ... GTFO.

For future reference, if anyone thinks I'm being too harsh, this is what the first page of this folder looks like today .. while mr.whinypants is bitching about not getting help:

What a toolbag.

Here is a hint, stay out of software development. My job is hard enough as it is. I don't need to spend more time fixing amateur mistakes from somebody who can't read and figure it out right the first time.

I know why he asked. Either he really is dumb and didn't think to check the rest of the topics to see if they have what he's looking for, or he's doing what everyone else is doing. Even though most everyone gets the same answer, they still like to know that it's right for them. Everyone is coming from different backgrounds, different areas, different skill sets, different level of expertise (or lack thereof). Most don't realize until they ask that it's pretty universal. They want to hear the same answer for their question and circumstances, just to be sure.

Yeah, but he got told multiple times that it was universal, and where to look for more answers. He even got asked to ask something more specific, and couldn't do that.
