Euro Gamer is reporting on the latest HL2 specs:

Quote:
Taking time out to post on HL2Fallout's forums last week, Newell said that the minimum spec would be a 1.2GHz powered PC with 256MB RAM, Win 98/ME/2000/XP and a DirectX 7 compatible graphics card.

But for those who want to see the game running in all its glory, be prepared to spec up to around a 2.4 GHz machine, with 512MB RAM, Windows 2000/XP and a DirectX 9 capable graphics card.

Hopefully my Athlon 64 3400 will have enough power. Even though it’s not 2.4 GHz (2.2GHz). Though the video card will make the biggest difference I guess.

Uh, Yeah. YOUR GOING TO BE FINE! Lucky bastard with his 64bit processor. :) By the way, get ATI if you want more performance out of this game. Go Nvidia if your more interested in Doom III.

This new system I'm building is a lot better than my current 800 MHz Intel with a GeForce 3. I've suffered long enough (lol). I want to be able to play the latest games.

I plan on making this video card last till Longhorn is released. Then I'll build a new PC (seeing how I'll probably need one).

Woohoo! That means my ATI AIW 9600 Pro that came with a HL2 coupon will still do the trick! (I'd be mad if it didn't).
