I am unable to get on the web and check email. I keep getting a TCP/IP error. I tried to uninstall TCP/IP but get a Network Connections Error stating that the component cannot be uninstalled because they are required by other components:
Simple TCP/IP Services
Print Services for Unix.
I am on Win 2000 Pro. I can ping the internal IP but nowhere else in cmd.
Any suggestions?

could be a nic card gone bad. if you have another nic card, try using a spare nic. more info about your system and network would be really great too.

Are you sure it's the NIC card? Are you connected to a router? Are you in the right connection slots? Are you set up to get on the net? What type of network is it? etc etc.

I have a cable modem running to a router. I have 2 other pc's that are on a wireless LAN. The problem is that I was able to get online for a while. After getting rid of my adware the pc is running at 100% processor and I am not sure what is running. Also, my peorsonal firewall won't run.

Just to add, before I reboot I get an End Program prompt and the name is MessageBouncer. I did a search but didn't find this program

Hello Cheeba,

I did a Google search and came up with this piece of info from another forum:

"Boot up, start hunting for Messagebouncer - ends up it's in a Real One .dll
- goodbye Real."

So I would get rid of Real One and see if your problem goes away.

Nasty

Thanks. It did. However, I believe that it is a winsock issue that is related to Ad-aware. I am trying to figure out how to resolve the changes it made.

do a ipconfig /all and post the results here.

I'm going to have a hard time believing that this is anything to do with ad-aware and everything to do with how you're talking with the rest of thw world in reguards to how things are configured, either at your TCP settings of within IE.
