I plan on getting the new OCZ DIY laptop with centrino 2 when it comes out, and on their website, it lists all of the mobile processors that are compatible with it. It doesn't say anything about the new mobile Quad core CPU's being released in a few months. There was an article on MPC saying that the upcoming quads will be compatible with all current Centrino 2 systems.
Anybody know if it will support the quad cores?

I do alot of video editing/encoding so it saves a TON of time if i have a quad core CPU.

I know there's 2 options with it: a single 8800gtx, or 2 ATI cards in crossfire. Also, does anyone know the prices for it with either one?

If you're doing professional video work, honestly, I'd drop that OCZ and simply pick up one of Clevo's flagship models.

If you're heavy into Adobe After Effects or you use Avid (Either Media Composer or Xpress), there's an nVidia Quadro option for their top model laptop that you can use for real time effects previews.

The two extra hard disk drives the thing holds is well worth it when working with lots of SD/DV/HDV footage, and there's a few quad core options for rendering power (unless your NLE software supports net rendering and you offload that work to other machines).

Haha all of my videos are ameteurish ones. They're pictures and video clips of big events at my temple (I'm hindu) put into a video slideshow at regular definition. I don't need anything fancy. My current laptop is OK for video editing, but it totally sucks for gaming. which is why I want this laptop. I plan on having it for the next 4 years, which explains the quad core proc I want, but if it drops my encoding times along with it, then why the hell not?

Besides, I only have 2 grand to spend and I like the customizability of the OCZ.
