Just thought it would be a useful resource

Post your finds for budget (close to or sub 1k) laptops that are good for gaming and other intensive tasks

requirments:
Videocard (any kind really you can't game on intergrated)
duel core (any speed)
at least 1 GB of ram

do you want a certain size screen? certain brand? and 1gb of ram is a little low, 3 is the new norm, as far as i've seen

Not in a laptop.
Unless you plan on running single channel with two different sized SODIMMs.
