This is just a suggestion, but I was wondering if we could make a sticky for the next month or so just listing good deals on PC parts/supplies. That way it would all be in one place for those of us who are buying new gear. I personally am looking for deals on videocards with game bundles, but I seem to find out about them too late. Anyone seen any awesome deals lately?

I haven't seen any specifically towards Video cards - but I do happen to know that CompUSA is running a veritable Plethora of in-store deals between now and Christmas - and if I understand it correctly - not all are advertised heh - makes ya have to stop by and check it out to find out

Anywayz - ya - we are always interested in hearing about the current deals - and if people frequent the thread with deals - it wouldn't even need to be sticky - as it would be popular and always new :)

Most Canucks probably already know this, but there's a site called RedFlagDeals.com that has listings of various deals in Canada (it's where I got my coupon for & found out about student discount on iPods), as well as very active forums for deals and buying/selling though mostly for computer equipment.

Post deals/etc in this thread.
If there's other sites like RedFlag, I'd be especially interested so I could make a sticky in the Dog Pound. I'm going to see about making it policy to post deals in the Dog Pound - it's more appropriate there than in the HH; some deals are multimedia/etc.

 Forget I asked

I'll give it a couple of days to see if any others come up before posting the sticky.

I know we don't want the forum to get cluttered with too many folders*, but I've often thought of suggesting having one dedicated to deals around the net - common names on other forums are 'Hot Deals', though we could get creative and name it 'Maximum Deals' or 'MaxDeals'...I don't care about the name so much, but the folder would be nice.

*And yes, I know that each one section is referred to as a 'forum,' but 'folder' just seems more appropriate to me :D

Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speakers - $265.79 w/ Free Shipping (Amazon)

This is the lowest price you'll find these for. $289 is about the going rate online from reliable vendors.

For those wondering, the Z-5500 are the replacements to the Z-680s. These received a perfect 10 in MaximumPC, though be warned that the speaker wire is attached to the speakers.

Not really holiday season, but year round..

Free Farcry, Half Life 2, and 6months of Napster when you buy a CPU and motherboard combo off Monarch Computer Systems. Their price is just about the same, some are more, some are less, than Newegg, and they come with free shipping on most of their CPUs and motherboards.

I saw that...My Dad grabbed the 250GB HDD, but the store only had like 8 of them, so I'm sure they were gone by noon ;)

I was gonna grab it up as well until I saw Frys/Outpost's deal on the same brand (Hitatchi), but the 160GB for $39.99 after rebate so I grabbed that..Looks like [broken link removed] raised the price by $10 since Friday
