I was sure the this race would be over this past weekend as this is what the stats say to me when I view them:

Donator maximum_monkey
Team Maximum PC Magazine (11108)
Score 5938603 (certificate)
Donator Rank 152 of 984765
WU 9543 (certificate)
Date of last
work unit 2008-05-12 04:43:50
Active processors
(within 50 days) 638
Active processors
(within 7 days) 624

The score is 5.9 million. Is core and points different? I see nothing posted to a winner so I'm guessing it's still going on.

We all started with existing points credited to the user name.

So if we started the race with 1,000,000 points already, we would have to race to 6,000,000 for a total race of 5,000,000.

Here is the EOC stats page that already figures in the starting points as agreed upon by all 4 team captains - http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... e_2008.php

Thanks. I missed the starting points in the original post of rules and such. At last look, we're up to 3609068.

The lead is back up to 294k at the 1500 CDT update.

Are our competitors singing the blues?

Thanks, and it is a good race!

We know what we need to do next year to win.....

This being our first year, we didn't know what we needed to do to rally the [H]orde properly.

All is well, we have added many new folders to the ranks and we plan to continue crushing you on the Team PPD :P

What Kendrak says is true...must have been a [H]orde stampede when faced with the inevitable.

But-all trashtalk aside, this has been a great, friendly race for solid science and I would have said that even if we lost. Interest in folding has increased and teams have pulled together. I thank competitors like Adak for their kinds words.

*EDIT* The lead is steady at 294k with the 1800 CDT update.

The grains of sand in the hourglass are dropping away..........

Somebody ought to take a snapshot of the four teams' 24-hr averages - not the racer names, but entire teams... I haven't been paying particular attention, but all four are over 1,000,000 PPD... has that EVER happened before?

Vijay must be giddy over there.

No, its never happened before. OCAU was still looking up at 800k not even a month ago.

OCF is now off their threat list and you guys aren't too far behind. Looks like MPC still has a lot to learn about poking sleeping giants with a sharp stick. They didn't care for it any more than we did.

i cant help but think the [H]erd is having fun with this. their challenge thread is over 50 pages, with more than 20,000 views. there are also other threads about it as well. :)

Well, our board isn't like yours. You have 50 users at any given time, we have a couple thousand. A thread about bacon can go 20 pages at the [H].

And I guess that's why it breaks so often. :(

And the bacon threads are awesome too!

The difference in forum size is a testament to MPC's commitment and dedication though. Your performance in this contest is something to be very proud of.

I personally think we got caught a bit off guard for this challenge, and while it's not looking to hot, it's not over yet! Next year should be awesome. :D

Oh, and thanks for the McCain pic comments...I thought it was pretty darn funny myself. :P
