Here's my hard drive set up.
Drive 1 - C: (for windows only) E: (Music)
Drive 2 - D: (Programs)
Drive 3 - F: (Video1)
Drive 4 - G: (Video2)
Drive 5 - J: (Video 3)
I do a lot of video editing and want to install a clean windows xp on my second partition (E:) That way I'll have only my video editing software installed on it, but I have data on that drive. Will windows erase my data by doing that? Do I need to have an empty partition for installing win xp or not?
Hmm on one of your drive, use paritition magic or a partitioning software and make another partition for your second XP to be installed in.
All you'll have to do is:
1. boot off of CD
2. when you get pass the screen for EULA, press F8
3. When it asks which paritition to install on, pick drive X: (whatever the partition or whole HD you want to install on.
It should install without probs, and shouldn't mess with anything else.
