My SSID is RavenShield it is a Linksys wrn300 b/g/n with mimo, WPA2-TKIP is enabled and login is done through a Radius server everything in my network sits behind a Linux smoothwall firewall.. My next door nieghbors ssid's are:

samstown (Hacked admin/ dbgrn45ht5h5hGG)
Stanley (Hacked mojilner/thorshammer )
Default (and yes the passwords are admin/admin lots of mp3 and pr0n)
2wire323 (admin/admin)

I find that a combo of netstumber and wiresahrk along with a few brute force dictionary attacks solves most issues getting into some ones router.

LOL.....I live in a apartment....so many unsecured networks around here. My Tomato'ed router just found 10.....4 of which are default network name.....pretty soon I will be behind a SmoothWall box as well. First just need to see how much power draw my spare comps use, I have a old P2 400MHZ dell computer that just chillin in my closet. However I may be able to build a computer that uses less electricity....however its hardware would be overkill for that....O well.

I saw this today on Passive Agressive notes, and figured I would post it. The SSID (as seen in the pic) is "InternetCosts$"

Here is the explanation: “apparently i needed to help pay for the growing internet bill,â€

I bet once the Wi-Fi consortium finds a way to do 802.3ad (link aggregation) over wireless, people are going to start locking up their networks.

"Hmmm......why is my monthly bandwidth now ten times what it was last month?"

Yeah right lol....either a lot of people are too stupid to know whats going on or they just think that it does not happen...

BTW, I love the bandwidth monitor on the Tomato Firmware.

I'd like to use this; Network_Not_Found

Instead, its *********** (edited for contextual sensitivity).

I'm not sure why people use WPA, shared keys, et al. as their only "security", let alone the doofi (plural of doofus?) that retain the default user/pw.

I restrict the number of connections and use a MAC filter on the router and AP. The vast majority of people don't know how to spoof a MAC address. Then, I tack on WPA with a pre-shared key, and do DHCP from my server. If the DHCP lease (or static IP) wasn't supplied by my server, it will reject it. My linux server also is the real router, and I have a script running that e-mails me whenever a new DHCP lease is requested/given out or expires.
