i just past both my A+ Essentials exam (was easy) and A+ 602 exam( whent into more detail) and yea just really happy about it

past with 92%

what does the A+ cover these days? i took it years ago when ya had to know everything bout hardware. everythings rather plug in play so is it mostly networking? or same ol' IRQ bs.

Yea I just got re-certified and it covers alot of networking , more of the OSI model than the actual Net+ exam which is wierd, oh well.

im not to sure if its different or not its the first time ive writen... and im only 16..and going for my ccna next

Going from A+ to the CCNA, well all I can say is good luck (not in a bad way), CISCO seem to be the hardest exams and take the most time, sometimes 6-8 months of studying 5+ hours a day for a single exam. So study hard and I wish you luck.

How easy were the actual tests compared to any practice tests you have taken? I noticed that there are many people surprised at how easy the actual test was and how high their score was.

Thanks Nate, i already have my books (done the first book) i also have a cisco lab witch belongs to my uncle who is CCNP and he's willing to help me if i need it... i do study 4 hours a night, and because i dont go to regular school i go to a work placement insted and im geting my high school deploma that way, plus im doing my work placement at my uncles store with the lab is situated and im there 9 hours a day 5 days a week... so my goal is to finish CCNA b4 summer brake comes lol... and from what im told ccna is very hard but im up to the challenge

and as for the exams... all i can say is there is two kinds a people 1 who will just get the grade he need to get his certification and the seconde person will try and study and understand as much as he can and get a great mark on the exam...

so just because some people say it was easy does not mean its going to be easy, it can be easy if you applie yourself and want it that bad so when you write the exam you get 90+ mark...

alot of people say it is easy just because they barely past ...


but if you had to hire a techy and had 2 people to choose from the first got a 79% on the exam and the second got a 90%+ ... im prety sure you would pick the seconde one... because the grade shows that he applied himself to geting the certification, and the first guy did not applie himself he just did bare minimum to pass the exam...

First off, congrats on passing your A+ exam!

I am also 16 and I'm currently studying for the A+ Essentials and 220-602 (IT Technician) exams. I am using the Exam Cram book by Charles J. Brooks (2007) and am enjoying my studies so far.

So, what did you use to study for the exams? (Books, computer training programs, etc?) How were your scores on the practice tests compared to the actual exam?

when i did practice tests i would get 98% to 100% and i say theres a 10% difference betwen the practice tests and the real exam...


i read the old exam book (301-302) i think... also read the Sybex book... and i had hands on work with computers everyday...

2 days bfore my exam i would do practice tests and do them alot and the day before i would wake up at 9am and do the practice tests until 9pm and get a good sleep then wake up at 9am get ready for the exam and do a few practice tests...
