My wife and I just bought a house, and my wife made me promise that I wouldn't run cables up and down the hallway like I did in our Apartment in Germany. So I decided to wire the whole house by running the cable from the Garage up into the attic and down the walls into jacks.

I ran CATV, Phone and LAN to 5 rooms, for a total of 5 Phone lines, 6 CATV lines, and 12 LAN drops. It took me 4 days to run the cables and run them into the walls. I soon realized how hard this project was to do by myself. All the cables have been run and installed in the walls. I am still waiting on parts for the Com Panel to finish wiring the Phone Lines and the CATV.

I think it turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. I will post more pictures when I finish.

Looking good, however....I dont see a UPS....Maybe its just not in the picture.

I cannot wait to the day taht I can finally set up my own place with a custom network job. First though, I need a better job, and second...the important part...a house.

Get a ups. My friends business just lost 3 nics and 2 switches due to a power sag from a fire down the street. All the others nics had another switch or power backup on them.

I am planing on getting an UPS. I just ran out of money on this project so I have to wait to buy more stuff. I had originally planned on mounting everything inside of a Wall mounted Rack, but they were out of my budget. Just in cables, materials, and tools this project is already over $400.

Yeah, what ever polesmoker. I know you got all your materials from the high-speed trailer park going up down the road. They didn't have any Plenum cable when you got that stuff.

I am almost done with my network side just need a few more cable runs. Also going to do my Coax but need the time.
I will most likely build a Network/server closet next year when I finish the basement.

I finally got the M-Block for the phone lines this week. So last night I finished up the wiring. I think it turned out pretty good. I still need to make a diagram so it's easier to figure out what goes to what.

LOL, I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out. I thought you just moved your setup. Either way, your setup is looking good.

Yeah that bastard needs to start his own thread LOL. The thread is titled "Wired my House" not "Post Your Central Wiring Panel".

Just a suggestion Merlin, you should also label your cables as well, because if you ever swap ports it might get confusing which cable goes to what.

First of all this thread is 3 years old and it's like suggesting a coffin for someone who has been buried for years, too little too late. Second I haven't lived in that house in over a year and a half. Third, it's in the garage, it doesn't matter what it looks like. Split loom looks cheap, not to mention it's a PITA when you want to change something. If I ever live in the house again I will probably move it all to a cabinet.
