Well i'm getting a new athlon xp 3200+ for a nice $134. i can get it bundeled with the CoolerMaster JET 7 for an extra 15 bucks which still makes it lower then the retail version with the amd heatsink. so is it worth it? would that coolermaster be as good/better as a stock cooler. it looks kinda wierd and i dunno how well itd work. maybe someone knows more then i? take a look here

As long as it's rated for that CPU it should be ok but I'd do some research to see if anyone has had any problems with it.

tho it would be better than the stock hsf, my choice would be to ditch the cooler master and dont think about the vantec either. check these:

Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu

Cooler Master Vortex Dream

Thermaltake Silent Boost

or maybe the Thermal Integration TI-A8641L (if u can find it)

i love that zalman you linked to. i almost got it for my main rig (A64 3500+). but i think i'm gonna stick with the one i linked because the other once you linked to arent carried by the vendor i'm purchasing from and it's just easier to have it all come from the same place in the same box.
