Unable to open compiled files with IE 6.0 FrontPage, notebook or any other known program. Susggestions?

First what do you mean by compiled?

A normal HTML document can be viewed as plain text with Notepad...

The file in question has an cmp extension, not html.

This is what I found for .CMP...

CMP = Address document of Route 66
CMP = Compressed data (PKWare compression library)
CMP = CorelDraw header file for PostScript printer files
CMP = CraftMan data
CMP = Discorp CMP Image image format
CMP = JPEG bitmap image (Lead CMP compression)
CMP = Leadview Bitmap
CMP = Microsoft Internet Explorer custom menu plugin
CMP = Mime: application/vnd.yellowriver-custom-menu
CMP = Ms Word for DOS user dictionary
CMP = Open Access File
CMP = Photofinish Calibration MaP

In addition to above, there's a few more found in the below link. Any particular reason you need this file open? You're going to have a heckuva time narrowing the correct program down:

Sorry for leading you astray...the extension is chm. If I haven't thoroughly disgusted you by know, maybe you can use the proper info for a workable solution. (the file in question is the user manual for a new Creative card.)

You may have to open it through one of Creative's interfaces. It may be a commpressed file as well. Did any software come with the card?

Right you are. It's a help file readale though Creative install interface. Thanx for the help.
