All right all your overclockers lets see how much you've managed to crank up the speeds on your procs!

Well I'm an old fart in the land of computers. I'm still running the same p3-450 I built back in the summer of 99!

I have it cranked up to a whooping 504mhz!

Funny thing is my system still does everything I need it to do. Email, chat, multimedia(mp3, dvd, etc), software development, web development, basic office junk, etc. Heck I even run a FreeBSD (4.10) server inside vmware on my machine for my web development.

I had an awsome rig a little while ago, but It was stollen... :(
I've been running a p3 733 with radeon 7500 and a p3 933 dual server with only one chip. But this is what I had...

Asus A7N8X - Dx (rev 1.4 even!)
1700+b @ 2.33
2 x 160G WD SE
2 x 80G SATA In raid 0
Radeon 8500 A-I-W

Now I'm waiting on my DFI LANparty UT 250GB and A64 3200+ to come in! let the fun begin again!!! Only problem is I'm stuck with a 7500 A-I-W for now

It really depends on the specific make/model. Your best bet, however, is to pick up one the dimms using the Samsung TCCDs. They're very high quality PC3200 sticks running at 2-2-2-5, yet they have a lot of overclocking headroom if you loosen the timings. It gets no better than these:

Kingston HyperX UL - $274
OCZ Platinum Revision 2 - $270
Mushkin Hi-Perf Level II - $252
Corsair XMS XL - $251
Patriot XBL - $224

im kinda wondering tho, is it worth it for the best 2-2-2-5 settings if when u start overclocking ur gona start loosening the timings u get much slower ones if u do anything serious in terms of oc/ing,

iwas thinking, u got the pc3700, thoes timings arent at the ground floor but there not that bad, (OCZ ram btw) u could have them timings at a much higher fsb than say the pc3200 as you mentioned above (forgive me tho the entire idea of overclocking is new to me thanks to OEM)

Good question. Depends on why you assume the PC3700 would hold their higher latencies at a "much higher fsb than" the TCCD based dimms?

Memory Roundup - notice how the TCCD stacks up against the PC4800

OCZ Review - notice the timings at 250, which is DDR500/PC4000 (2.5-3-3-7). That's tighter than the slower clocked PC3700 questioned above.

The Samsung TCCDs will run extremely tight at stock, yet has the same headroom as PC4000+. Simply put, it gets no better than these sticks right now.

In all reality, there's little difference (besides price) in those TCCDs listed above. I'm partial to OCZ because of their customer service, but it comes at a price.

What about the crucial ballistix I hear so much about? I know they are Micron, not the Samsungs. They seem to be competitive.

I can't say anything bad about Crucial Ballistix, nor can I say that Samsung TCCD's are the only game in town. There are very worthy alternatives, Ballistix being one of them.

P1 233mhz to 333mhz stable only under windows XP
-Actually used a thermaltake 6cu heat sync and strapped an 80mm fan on that

P2 400mhz to 450mhz somewhat stable....
-used a heat sync about 2 and 1/2" high and as wide as the chip, rigged an amd heat sync fan and a cooler master (6000rpm) fan to it and let it rip, could run call of duty just fine, warcraft 3, battlefield 1942 as well. It could run need for speed underground2 (pretty laggy) and battlefield vietnam. I never managed to get to putting doom3 on it though...

All my overclocking has been done with the jumpers.. so im really new to this overclocking through the bios.

3 Gbs of RAM, Intel’s newest Mob and 3.05Ghz CPU, and to top it all off everything in the tower is water cooled, which allowed me to overclock the snot out of it to a grand total of 4.00Ghz. :D

no Intel processor @ stock speeds runs at 3.05 Ghz and I highly doubt that any Intel would take a 995 mhz increase
3 gigs of ram?

how about some pics

you only need one account nightfire007
