I only started folding five days ago. Could someone tell me how to join a sub-team or tell me where to find out?

Which version are you running?

Anyways to get on a sub-team you just have to change your folding username to Spider_Monkey and then you'll be part of the monkey federation. If you want to act the part it is welcomed.

I second sparta's motion. Joining the monkey fed has its advantages, and all you have to do is change your username to Spider_Monkey. Be sure to use the caps as it is case-sensitive!!

You can fold under your own name or change your name to on of many different collectives such as the monkey federation ("Spider_Monkey"), stewie federation ("Stewie_Fed"), or many other ones.

Dont listen to PC. There is no such thing as the Stewie Federation.

Well my young padawan students fail to state that to become part of the Monkey Federation you need to prove yourself worthy..... we just don't accept anybody.....

Here is one way you can "come to the plate" so to speak.... obtain an irc client and come visit us on #maximumpc and we'll all chat a bit and see how serious you are to join.... then if you can handle all kinds of fun and razzing and you have the potential to join the Monkey Federation World Domination tour..... you may be selected to enter the junior corps.... after that if you can handle even more fun and bullshit you enter the monkey scout status..... oh and there's 8 more levels after that..... and you have to have more fun each time.......

On irc you can really find out if joining a collective is for you.....

Personally, I would avoid joining a collection right when you join. All the sub-teams are are multiple members folding under the same name, as Sparta said. However, there is no real advantage to this. It is nearly impossible to check your own stats, as all the points go to one person, and in the case of the monkeys, they have at least 6 members I know of already.

Personally, I think it is a lot more fun folding under your own username. I started with one machine, and am now up to 4, all dual cores Because of this, I am more easily able to monitor what my machines are doing, and know by looking at one of the stat sites like ExtremeOC if anything is acting up.
