PC2700 DDR Sodimms from an apple notebook should work in a PC notebook without problem right? Both take 200pin ddr sodimms. I would think memory is memory and shouldn't have any problems, but somewhere I read some apple dimms have "mac spd" on them.

any ideas?

I would assume it would work.

I've taken PC memory (Crucial and Kingston) and used in a PowerMac G4, and vise versa. I'm pretty sure all memory is pretty much generic and all conforms to the same spec.

The spd that you're referring to (as far as I know) only contains the timing information for the chips.
