BIG THUMBS DOWN for Medion computers/support agents/corporate/message board. This company makes the Compaq of the 1990s look like today's top end
computers. I received a call yesterday from them, THEY said they would NOTIFY me when the part comes in *Yeah right, big time brush off" I love my MPC
magazine BUT I can wait till we SEE what these companies really make, not what
they send out to be reviewed. I think every computer based magazine out there need too rethink how they score a "NEW" computer. Meaning let it be in the market place for a period of time before they review it as good, or bad. Certain things that go wrong with a PC cannot be determined by reviewing it. ESPECIALLY failures of parts due to how they were originally manufactured (CHEAPY to give a better bottomline.) I have YET see any computer review magazine look at a motherboard to heatsink mount EVER! and this no big deal type of part can take a
computer offline indefinitly.

Thumbs up: Gigabyte, for giving us rock-solid motherboards that seemingly can't be killed.
Antec: For making power supplies that just keep going and going and...well you get my point.

Thumbs down: MSI,for making unstable motherboards.(I speak from experience. My mom's motherboard that died was an MSI).R.I.P MSI...

I second that motion....MSI doesn't have crap for quality, save maybe their Diamond series mobos.....the "budget" boards they have need massive improvements.

Another thumbs up for eBay

Just bought another 512MB stick of crucial PC133 CL2 for about half what I'd pay for it off crucial's site and it just went through 23 passes (left it running overnight) of MemTest86 with not one single error.

Third stick of crucial ram I got off eBay without a problem

Thumbs down for UPS, I bought Postal 2 over the net, and put my ship to address as my work address, but they brought it to my apartment, and the label was marked to go to my work. Granted I received it quickly, but I was home, 10 feet from the door, and they stuck it between the doors and left. No doorbell, no knock, nothing. Stupid crackhead. If I knew who the delivery person was, I'd drop-kick 'em into next week.

Thumbs up: Newegg + Fedex.
I ordered a new Motorola SB5120 cable modem at 3:45 PM today.
It left the Fedex warehouse at 4:16 PM. Need I say more?

Thumbs down: RCA,for making horrible-quality cable modems.

Thumbs up: Red Hat Linux-with basically no Linux experience,I was able to do a hard drive install on my new backup PC. They even have a built-in 802.11 wireless config program. Here's their website:
http://www.redhat.com/ .

Thumbs Up:

IBM - for the best laptops around.

Asus - best mobo I've ever built with.

Samsung - awesome 712n LCD.

Saitek - Cyborg Evo by FAR the best joystick I've ever had.

Thumbs Down:

TigerDirect.ca - for taking three weeks to get one stupid little PCMCIA card out of the warehouse and to my door.

Antec - Needlessly overcomplicated "screwless" case with a side panel that rattles like hell no matter what I do and a front bezel that does not line up with my two DVD drives, thereby giving me an ugly open space thats about a quarter-inch too small to fill with a cover.

Aspire - X-Dreamer biggest piece of shit case ever.

ECS - Junk mobos. Front USB connectors non-functional, dead PCI slot, driver installer disk that looked like it came from 1996.

LG - DVD burner I barely use won't make a 40x burn anymore and only does 24x with errors.

Logitech - Three cheap-as-hell Attack joysticks in a row that died within a month. Never again.
