Until you kill it. When you buy a replacement proc, overclock it almost to that point

To be serious, the question is vague. How far you should overclock depends on YOU. How far you can overclock depends on your SYSTEM. Are you looking to take it as far as it will go? Are you looking for a modest performance increase? etc...

help. I know there are some overclocking geniuses out there able to help me. If no one can, can anyone know a good website with an overclocking forum?

I haven't played with either an A64 3400+ or a 6800GT, nor have I played with your specific system. However, you can see what others are getting by going to Overclocker.com's CPU database and looking up that proc. From there, google some 6800GT reviews, as most reviewers worth their salt will take OCing into consideration.

That memory is only PC 3200. Granted it's Corsair and that will help quite a bit, but you might end up having to clock it down or slow its timings a bit to get it completely stable. Especially if you push your fsb above +10%.

Even 2 systems with the exact same hardware will OC differently. Yes the ram may hold you back. You can go as far as you want just don't put cpu voltage above 2.0 (1.9 to be really safe) and keep an eye on your temps.

Oh an make sure that your agp/pci feq. is locked.

Good luck :)

How far can you overclock? that's a pretty vague question.

you basically want to overclock as much as you can, while keeping your temps resonable and your cpu stable.
