gonna need more info on what you're doing, anything that has changed before this problem started etc..

Otherwise it may be your CPU overheating and the mobo resetting the system and buzzing letting you know its too hot.

Check temps

I haven't done anything different... and neither my system temp or my cpu temp has gone above 40 degrees C. It just kinda started doing it on its own awhile ago. It doesn't do it like REALLY often, but it does it enough to annoy me.

Humming and Buzzing and then the monitor going black?

Sounds like we're using a refresh rate that your monitor can't handle.

Well I think my computer just sucks haha. I wanna build a new one :( my games seem to always have problems. They always lock up or crash or seem to have some other problem. Probably my fault since I didn't really know anything about computer parts back when I decided to build it. lol I thought I knew more than I actually did then. Gah If only I had the income to build another one, I'd build one that didn't suck and screw up all the time... and I'd order my parts from WELL KNOWN sites instead of ones that no one has ever heard of lol...

:( I WISH I COULD FIX THE DARN THING

Have you checked your event logs? What do they say?

Start>Run>Eventvwr.msc

your comp doesnt suck. your vid card is the.....3rd best ATI based card there is. your RAM is good enough as is everything else. its a good system on paper, i dunno what could always be wrong with it. only thing i could think of is either heat or power supply. does your PS put out enough wattage and if so maybe its a sucky one and spikes. other then that i dunno.

Take a good look at your motherboard. See if any of the electrolitic capacitors have puffed up or split open. Look for the "can" type capacitors that are standing straight up on the motherboard. We had a motherboard go in a Gateway at work and that is what happened. If it did happen, get the board RMAed.

Nasty

has it been running fine w/o problems for a long time? how long?

personally, i don't like pairing an Intel CPU with a non-Intel chipset.

I have a 550Watt Power Magic power supply... I don't think that's the problem either.

This is my first home-built comp so it had a LOT of problems starting out.
But I got them all fixed up pretty much... Then it started actin goofy again awhile later, so I reformatted and what not, and it was actin great for a few months till I left for a week to go to a leadership camp... When I came back It started havin these problems. I wish I could get everythign friggin fixed lol. There ALWAYS seems to be SOMETHING wrong.

Zalman CNPS7000-CU, of course.

And don't forget the AS5.

Hi I'm Ryan's friend IRL.

Today we took his heatsink off and the thermal paste underneath was BLACK, assuming it was burned because it also smelled really funny. The heatsink and processor were very warm, but I don't think they were anywhere near 74 degrees celcius like Motherboard Monitor said.

We bought a new cheapo 30 dollar heatsink from the local computer store and put some AS5 on it and the temps were as low as 27 degrees according to BIOS.

I'm hoping that fixes his problem.
