 Post subject: trying to rebuild old 1

ive put this older computer i have together amd k62 128 ram cd rom basics well the problem im having with it is when it tries to load into windows the screen just goes blank i dont understand this because when i was installing windows and if i go into safe mode it loads just fine is it some stupid little thing im overlooking? i have a riva tnt2 32 meg card which is supported by the chipset so i dont understand why

What windows version and what driver version are you using. Do you have all of the motherboard chipset drivers installed?

i tried to load xp home and now im trying 2000 i got the same thing with both os and i cannot get windows to load to load the chipset drivers after the install finishes it wont load into windows at all except safe mode

sounds like unsupported refresh rate. what size monitor are you using?

ok im using standard mouse and keyboard i do not have the usb ports installed on the mobo the mobo has the ports for it but not directly on the i/o pannel and the monitor i am using is a 17 inch hp monitor but i used this same graphics card in the computer im on now just my model was oem and this other 1 is new from the box but same chipset so i dont think its unsupported refresh rate

Find out which motherboard, and install the AGP Drivers for the chipset. That should allow the "ForceWare" nVidia Drivers to fully install and be recognized.

Most K6-Era chipsets need the AGP Driver.
