i've been reading maximum pc for quite a "while" now and i know that maximum pc has always denied to hook notebooks up to external monitors for their Quake III test. i remember there was a reader who sent them an email complaining that. Max PC replied that posting scores that consumers cannot achieve without additional hardware would lead to confusion. i totally agree with that. and i am not here to complain. but how is it that they will connect desktop gaming rigs to monitors to test their video performence but would not do it with the notebooks? consumers still cannot achieve 90 frames on that Alienware ot voodoo computer without buying an extra monitor.

Laptop: VGA monitor is considered "extra" since there already is a display mounted.
Desktop: VGA/DVI monitor considered necessary, it's not an extra I'm afraid

so does that mean if an Alienware pairs its 6800 Ultra with a LCD that has the max resolution of 1024*768 and they would post Would Not Run(WNR) on their Halo score since the game is tested in 1280*1024?
