So Im in the process of ripping a few of my DVDs to harddrive to I can put them on the laptop for a trip.

I downloaded a little app called DVD Decryptor which ripped the DVD and now I have a bunch of VOB files and other DVD related stuff.

Im not sure where to go from here. The VOB contain the audio.
How do I go about turning all these files into one playable file, .mpeg or .avi is what I want.

Thanks.

There's several ways you can do this, so I'll just post one:

1. Download FLasK & Thunder plugin (if needed).
2. Load the VOB files into FLasK
3. Crop any black bars/areas out of the picture
4. Normalize the audio (Sometimes needed) and push the Dolby Surround downmix button if you're dropping the audio down to a stereo format.
5. Go to Output Settings and hit AVI
6. Select DivX for Video and MP3 (or whatever you want to use) for Audio
7. Don't forget to configure the audio/video codecs (bitrates, keyframing, etc)
8. Hit the Flask button. Wait a long ass time (depending on your system)

Any Questions go here and read the tutorials: www.dvdrhelp.com

My only beef with Flask is it's Video decoder. If the decode looks like shit all you get is a nicely encoded DivX piece of crap. That guy needs to update this stuff. :?

I personally like dr divx for dvd to divx conversions as after you ripped the vob files all you have to do is dump them into dr divx and the good doc takes care of everything.

There is a much easier way to do this. What exactly are you trying to do? Rip so you can make a VCD or a DVD,or an avi file you can play.www.afterdawn.com has all you will need. If you have any ?'s,email me personally,I can walk you thru it.
