keep the stock cooler unless you want a quiet cooler then get the zalman 7700cu and this cooler is also good for ocing. but thats only if you want quiet or overclocking.

now that i've seen the x800xl at ati's website - for its intended price of $300, i'll definitely recommend that over the 6800gt.

IMO, your budget is a bit high. You can go to I Buy Power or Cyber Power (both are in the links One4ya gave) and get 2 pc's for that.

If you do go to Monarch- use the MPC link, so they know your going there from here. They pay to advertize on the main page, they need to know it's working

Thermaltake Dream Tower (Tsunami) - $105

ABIT Fatal1ty AN8 - $205

ATI X800XL - $300

1GB (2x512MB) Corsair Value Select CAS 2.5 - $105

3500+ AMD 64 Winchester 90nm RETAIL - $325

Antec Neopower 480w - $126

Seagate Barracuda 160GB SATA w/ NCQ RETAIL - $130

There is no need to get high dollar RAM for A64's. Corsair Value Select has proven to be a worth contender for the A64 platform. Don't get me wrong OCZ Plat Rev. 2 is great, but compared to Corsair Value Select, the performance increase is negligible. (You can overclock well even with Corsair VS, you just have to run a memory divider - refer to overclocking section).

That whole system comes out to be around 1700$, leaving ample room for monitor and great set of speakers.

You might want to build it yourself. Hell, I'm a seventh grader and I've built one (not for me though, I was at the local shop where the owner is my friend and he walked me through the process)

they don't advertise......their new business is a result of word of mouth from satisfied customers(of which I'm one)

they also have accounts with universities, corporations and government agencies

they have a multitude systems that address different specialized needs......Graphics, video, gaming, servers, etc

they also have an extremely large selection of components you can choose from should you decide to design your own system

just check out their site and look and compare

OMG do what Blondie put. Get it from CyberPower thats where i got mine and im a very happy man :D . Dude I think they have better support than Dell. When I used dial up *shuder* for some reason after a month or so my computer stopped getting on the internet and I tried reinstalling drivers and getting new one and reinstalling my internet provider but internet still wouldnt work. So I packed up my modem and sent it back to CyberPower and they sent me a new one hassle free. This happened three times before I decided to reinstall Windows and that fixed it. But the said please send it back and we will ship you a new one. And the best part: for how much my system cost, you could get a Dell that has the same specks for $400 more. It cost less through CyberPower than it would building a system from scratch and I have a 3 year warrenty. :D CyberPower all the way :D
