It depends on your wants/needs. With that money you can get CRT will give a better picture, resolution, refresh rate, etc. But there is a space and weight consideration. Personally, id go out and buy a nice CRT because it's the obvious choice for gaming. but hey, It's your choice

The space and weight is really not a factor since I wont be moving or transporting the monitor. So I guess that its really down to just CRT's. What are the best CRT's for under $350

I have the FE2111SB (the 22" version of the 19" FE991SB) and it's pretty good. It has a three-year warranty, so that's nice, but I think I need to return it because it has an occasional problem with going in and out of focus, and sometimes it seems like all the text is jagged.

It's not my eyes playing tricks on me, it's the monitor, and I've never seen anything like this before. Other than that, it's great.

I'll have to second the FE991SB. THe only thing better as far as 19" that is still being manufactured is the higher Mitsubishi specific model, but that's a bitch to find and the extra cost isn't justified by the slight additional quality. The FE991SB can be gotten in both black and white for aroun 260-270 plus shipping. If you don't mind buying repackaged stuff check out http://www.techforless.com/cgi-bin/tech4less/sqlresults?id=gYa7fBwt&mv_pc=193
where it can be had for 193 plus shipping.

If you wanna spend a little bit more check out the Hyundai/Imagequest LCD monitor. It has been seen for as low as $340. It is a 19" with an 8ms response time. Both Tom and Anand like this monitor. I for one am going to order one from newegg this week. $369 no shipping/tax. I'm a hardcore gamer and have heard this baby is a beauty to behold.
