I think you need to throw in 2 Sony 19 inch LCD's at close to $700 each. There is a rebate, $100, not sure if they'll give 2 rebates.

SDM-HS95P/B- 19" HS-Series Flat Panel Digital Display, they also make it in silver.

Then there is the SDM-HS94P/S- 19” HS-Series Silver Flat Panel LCD Display.

Awesome monitor. I just bought the SDMHS74P 17 inch monitor, circuit city link and am really impressed with it.

If a monitor is on your list, go to either Best Buy, Comp USA or Circuit City and check them out.

Do you know is the new Antec Cooler is any good? Because I'd much rather go with something like that as opposed to changed the actual cooler. It could even cool my extremly power hunger constantly overheating audigy 2 ZS. :P

thats the two slot pci cooler i was talking about, that'd work great if you can spare some PCI slot room

Well right now I think I have most components chosen:

AMD Athlon 64 3200 w/ ZALMAN 7000b Copper heatsink
DFI LANPARTY UT Ultra-D or Asus A8N SLi Deluxe
1 GB OCZ Platinum Rev. 2 Enhanced Latency
Leadtek GeForce 6800 GT or Powercolor X800 XL*
300 GB Maxtor DiamondMax 10 or 74 GB WD Raptor

*I was also looking into 2 Vanilla 6800s in SLi

Right now though, the real question is, what'sa good case to keep everything nice and cool, I was thinking of the following:
CM Centurion 5
CM WaveMaster
Antec P160
Chenbro Gaming Bomb II

i would go with the dfi sli mobo, 2x 6800 vanilla sli, 300gb hd, and coolermaster cmstacker

Thanks for the recomendation, but the Stacker's not my cup of tea, too heavy, BTW do you know how 2x Vanilla 6800s perfrom to an X850 or 6800 Ultra?

You should look at some benchies.

Last I saw, the Ultra was about 10% faster than the vanilla. However, 2 vanillas are about 25-75% faster than 1 vannilla depending on which game it was benched on.

Basically, I think you would be looking at about 40% faster than an Ultra with 2 Vanillas.

EDIT: Found some benchies, though they only compare the 6600GT and the 6800Ultra in SLI.

Damn! Look at that benchie! 2x 6800 Ultras in SLI can do 1600x1200 with 4x AA and 16x AF at 65FPS!

It looks to me like HL2 gets more out of SLI with higher resolutions and filtering. If you plan on having a lot of that, go for the SLI.

 Really? I posted this same thread over at PCG Forums and someone over there said it'd only be a tad faster than a single GT. :?

Read my edit statement.

At 1024x768, the difference will be nil. However, at 1600x1200 and 4x AA with 16x AF, you will see close to a 100% increase in FPS.

EDIT: It looks like SLI also helps with water. Compare the Canals benchies to the City 17 benchie.

If your close to one of the stores I mentioned, go check it out, it's an awesome monitor. I've never seen the one you have to compare it to, if you do go, post back on your thoughts.

no thats the 6600gtsli. when they sli they are abt on par with the 6800gt. 6800 vanilla sli should be about the same as a 6800 ultra (i think).

You said the cmstacker wsa too heavy, i would go with the wavemaster then. Also i think instead of u gettting 2x 6800 vanilla u should get 1 6800ultra and get another on a later date.

in this benchie it shows sli 6800ultra getting over 100fps in 1600x1200 with aa and af.

I think I'll go with a single 6800 GT for now, an OC to Ultra speeds.
