What are you referring to? This board is already a phpBB2 version. I would hope it's at the latest version, 2.0.12. Please clarify.

That was a January post, Blondie. At that time, the copyright info at the bottom of the page was sporting version 2.0.10. In fact, patch files from 2.0.11 had been applied and the version of PHP was updated, but a full phpBB update to 2.0.11 was not performed at that time.

Since then, just 5 days ago in fact, version 2.0.12 came out. One of the new features of the update is to remove the version number at the bottom of the page. Now, unless you are intimately familiar with phpBB and all its "quirks", you will never know what version is running. This is to give just one more stumbling block to a would-be hacker looking to bring yet another message board down.

In the mean time, work is ongoing on version 2.2 of phpBB. It promises to be full of new features and functions and includes a new, stock, interface. The phpBB Group has developed one of the best forum software programs there is. It is also one of the most hacked. One feature I think has been most glaringly absent is the way most forum software will tell you what threads you have participated in. There are many other features, too, that you can only find in a product like vBulletin, my personal favorite.

The folding at home community forums is still based on 2.0.11, but they're using some 1.52 Plus thingamagiger which modifies the templates a bit differently than what we have.

To be clear, we are at 2.0.12, as is every FutureNetwork USA forum other than MacAddict. We don't know what they're on over at MacAddict, but rest assured, withdrawal for them will be a bitch.
