well, i'm finally gonna buy an LCD. I've narrowed it down to two different options. this looks like its gonna be the winner. but theres also this one for the same price. other then the way it looks whats the difference? and if theres anything wrong with either of these monitors please point it out, i'm not very LCD educated.

EDIT: ok how about the best LCD for under ~$320 that i'll be able to game with

Both of those monitors are from Dell's lower quality series, and the original retail price it has is a lie, instead save up some money for the Dell 2001FP, here, right now it's 750 usd but I guarentee it'll be on sale within the next month.

this is a tad above budget but well worth it.

this is also a descent buy if you want to save a few bucks and go with 17"

If you can scrape the funds together, get a Samsung. Wait until their no pixel policy is in place.

If you need one now Newegg hada a sale on the 910T LCD for around 400 1 or 2 weeks ago. They should have something on sale soon.

I have had 4 Samsung 191's running basically 16-24hrs a day since I got them, only 1 dead pixel in the 4 of them and not one problem, each one has a DVI and VGA so I can use both a CRT and a LCD on each one if I need to..

also whatever you get go to www.displaymate.com and use it to set up color levels etc

what's up gramaton?

well....i can't believe the prices 19" LCD's are becoming, it's great for us!

anyways...less than $320? how bout http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=24-009-022&DEPA=1

it got some great reviews!

we have like 10 of the 17" ones here at work, and they are really beautiful..unfortuantely i can't say anything about gaming on it, but the screen is bright, vibrant and beautiful!

i'm leaning towards getting this one or an NEC/Mitsubishi or Samsung one later. but for $305.99 w/ FREE shipping!! from newegg..you can't beat it.

also that Hyundai mc-screwdriver suggested looks nice too.

also look at the Response Time...the lower the # the better.

good luck!

I thought the "no dead pixel" policy was effective on a purchase after January 1, 2005. I sure hope so because mine will be delivered in about two days!

yeah, that no dead pixel thing is strange, cause on every newegg lcd product, "they" state 8 or less dead pixels....

i wonder if it's their own policy or through the manufacturers? but every lcd is stated as that.

so i'm not sure either.

maybe if you got it direct from the company, then they would have their own policy, not absolutely sure.

but good question though...

Went directly to Samsung's site and they list a 10 pixel policy! I've emailed them with no response yet. All I can say is I hope I don't have any dead pixels when I get mine. Maybe I'll have to sic the dog after them!!!

Hey....what happened with my quote?

thanks a lot EdoKoi, thats just what i was looking for, great deal. and can anyone tell me if a 16ms response time will hurt gaming. anything below that you have to run it at an insane amount of hertz right? i think i've found my LCD.

that hundai is really tempting me for 390 shipped. i'm not sure i'm willing to fork over almost 400 bucks though, i'll have to read more reviews.

is this the same model? it says its the same but it looks different. are there different models of stands? or is that just a cheap version. on the official hundai site they have all the same info for the two LCD's, just different screens.

edit: after through review the only minor differences are in viewable angle 170 / 170 vs 150 / 135, contrast ratio 600 : 1 vs 700 : 1 and luminance 250 cd/§³ vs 300 cd/§³. with the first set of number coming from the L90D and the second set form the L90D+

Nice deal! Good luck with that!

yeah, i know how that is...did the same w/ an my enermax case a few months ago.

i decided to get a 9800pro 2 months ago for the same price as it wouldn've cost me for a 6600 card...now i'm wishing i should've gotten the nvidia card but, oh well...

enough about me, that Samsung lcd looks really nice too!

enjoy it!
