Not wanting to upgrade to Xbox One, I'm taking my gaming collection over to Steam and the next on the list is Doom 3.
Of course, Steam can't make it an easy choice for me, because they allow you to purchase the BFG edition (Ultimate, 2, 3, RoE, and Lost Mission), a Doom 3 pack (Doom 3 and RoE, no lost mission however), and a Classic Doom pack (Ultimate, 2, Master Levels, and Final).
I know the BFG edition was intended to be an improvement for consoles, but I'm wondering if it's worth it for PC. Anyone have any suggestions? Do I go with the Classic Doom and Doom 3 packs or just the BFG and call it a day?

Just get the BFG version. It's a much improved version over the original game.

Plus you can use the flashlight with a gun without a mod.

Latios, I'm starting to think I should just PM when I have a PC questoin
Thanks for the input though. Like I said, leaning towards BFG but I keep hearing chatter that the original can be made to look just as good and that BFG was more geared towards the console crowd. However, you have yet to steer me wrong!

FPS games can't really be "consolized". Maybe if you care about multiplayer or excessively tweaking with the console or something.

Nah I tend to lean towards Single Player. Plus, if I get bored i can get standalones of Master Levels/Final Doom. Unless they make separate DLC, only way to get the lost mission is BFG.
