I am currently using an ASUS Zenbook Prime UX32VD-DB71, which has a combo audio jack that supports both speakers and microphones. However, plugging in anything causes the internal microphone to not work. I suspect this is because it thinks that the thing I plugged into the laptop has a microphone, so it automatically disables the internal mic. Any suggestions for how to make the internal mic work while a headset without a mic is plugged in?
Check both the driver (Advanced tab), any audio app that came with the laptop/audio chip and Windows' Sound for a check box for exactly what you said: 'Disable internal microphone when external microphone plugged in.'
Also update to latest audio driver for chip, which is Realtek
in this case.Still under warranty
