Specs:
Windows 8 64-bit (6.2, Build 9200)
Dell Inspiron 5520
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.20GHz (8 CPUs)
8192MB RAM

So I'm a amateur gamer, and my next birthday I'm asking for a new graphics card, since my fps in most games is below par. I'm thinking Nvidia GTX or AMD or something, but I'd like to ask a few more people before I get my heart set on one.

If you're wondering, some of the games I lag on include...
Just Cause 2 (with minimal graphics), Borderlands 2 (min. graphics), Blacklight: Retribution (min. graphics), NFS:MW, Sniper Ghost Warrior 2, sometimes TF2 (ikr), and Dishonored.

Any help/advice is appreciated, happy modding.

Cheers

That laptop has intigrated graphics (Intel HD Graphics 4000), as such it's a part of the CPU.

Well, I should rephrase that. You can't upgrade anything besides the RAM and HDD. The 99 times out of 100, the GPU and CPU are soldered onto the motherboard, so you can't upgrade either. Even if you could desolder them and resolder a new part, it may not work because the laptop's cooling system was designed only for the best configuration that was available.
