Hey guys, I have a question RE: sli. Though I've been a pc hobbiest for a few years now I have never dealt with SLI or Crossfire as I'm not much of a gamer, I basically just build and upgrade for "bragging rights" to mess with my nephew.
I'll list my system specs here for your perusal:GByte GA-990FXA-UD3
AMD FX-8120 at stock(3.1Ghz)
G-Skill PC1800(?) 8GB ram
Zalman CNSP 110mm cpu cooler
EVGA GTX 680 SC+ 2GB
So here's my question; I know that this particular gpu is no longer in stock, but there are newer 680's that are faster. Can I use the older gpu with one of the newer ones without prob's, are will i have to have 2 of the same vintage?
I'm also doubling the mem to 16GB. Are there any other parts that may need an upgrade? Am open to all thoughts and suggestions.
