I've been researching a monitor upgrade lately and could use some guidance/advice, especially from anyone that has used both 2560x1440 and 2560x1600 resolutions.
At this point, I'm either going to get a 27" Viewsonic VP2770 (x1440, 16:9) or a 30" Dell U3014 (x1600, 16:10) monitor. I'm currently using my 1080p 46" television to view text, web pages, games, movies and the occasional photo, but I don't do professional photo editing. I sometimes play FPS games, but input lag isn't that important to me.
So, cost difference aside - any recommendations between the two? One interesting comment I've read online is that 30" monitors are large enough to require head movement while gaming. This is viewed as a negative, which I can understand, at least conceptually. I've never gamed on one myself.
Also, I completed a new desktop build late last year and am running two 3GB 7950's, so I should be okay from a GPU perspective.
Thanks in advance for your help. This is the last thing I need to settle before making my purchase.
Please note: I am not interested in the lower-quality options (Korean-made imports, Monoprice, etc.), so resist the temptation to argue their merits... please
