I posted a build here before and has since revised it slightly. I'm pretty much a novice builder so I could really use the advice. I'm looking to build a gaming PC,I want to support up to 3 monitors (just gonna use one for now but will get others later), and while i probably won't use it, i wanted to have the ability to do Crossfire/SLI later, same with overclocking, just want it as an option for a later time. As far as budget I'd like to keep this as close to $1200 as possible.

This is what i came up with so far:

    CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
    Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
    Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
SSD: Sandisk 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
PSU: Corsair CX 600W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card
Optic Drive: LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer

I'd really appreciate a second opinion. Thanks.

This shouldn't be $1200. USD? CAD? ZBD? Also is this it or do you need other components like OS, monitors, mouse, etc.

USD. And yeah, i forgot to mention i already have a case, mouse and keyboard already. I was factoring those in along with the Windows 8 and the monitor i planned to get as well

I'm assuming the case is an ATX case. Also $1200 total, or $1200 just for the tower? If it's total, then we need to know how much the monitor is.

Yes its total, the case is a Cooler Master Storm Trooper. I bought it on Amazon for $149.99, and i got a Razer Deathstalker keyboard from Woot for $48 and the E-3lue Cobra EMS109BK High Precision Gaming Mouse for $11.45 on Amazon. The monitor i might get is the ViewSonic VA2212M-LED 22-Inch LED-Lit Monitor which is $129.99 on Amazon. If I don't find a better one than that's what I'll get. I'm somewhat flexible on the cost, I'd just prefer to keep it around that price.

that price does seem a bit high, can you post links to where you planning on buying the parts?

also, generally you would be better off with something in the Intel i5 range. Is there a particular reason you went with AMD?

I planned to get my parts from a local Micro Center, here's a link for each part i listed

http://www.microcenter.com/product/398053/14x_Internal_Blu-ray_Burner_WH14NS40_-_Bare_Drive

the GPU link isn't showing up so I think that's sold out but i think it was in the $200 range

As far as choosing AMD its pretty much to see how it fairs. This is my first build and maybe someday I'll do another, so weather this goes well or not I'll at least know for next time. And besides, i don't think i've had a pc with a AMD processor.

thanks phillyj, that sounds better, and as far as a monitor, i think i'd probably be better off getting a small tv, it's a bit easier finding that over a inexpensive 1080p monitor with integrated speakers...
