Sometimes, I inadvertently middle-click the "new tab" button in Chrome.

That causes a lovely feature of "click once on any tab to close it." Mashing middle-click on the new tab button gets rid of it.

How do I banish this annoying "feature" once and for all?

Of what I have read on the interwebs there is no fix for this annoying command.
