While encoding an episode of Game of Thrones, I noticed a particularly troublesome quirk with the free DVD Flick software. Whenever the video is mostly white or black (doesn't matter which), frame rates drop to single digits or less, sound breaks up, and quality goes to shit. As soon as there is more of a mix on screen, things go back to normal.
So, a big, fat fellow walking in a blizzard or a black-screen transition between scenes will choke DVD Flick nearly to death.
Anyone know why or how to stop it?
