Hi guys, recently I noticed on task manager that my CPU wasn't going past 10% usage under load (playing BF3) and running a stress test on it. Also max speed is 1.37 even though in WEI and BIOS it shows that max speed is at 3.6 and current speed is 3.6 too. Any help? I only get 10-20 fps on most games with 2 7950's due to this...

Specs:
Crosshair V formula z BIOS 1302
FX 8150 @ stock
1000 W NZXT PSU
Corsair 16gb dominator
x2 ASUS 7950
Corsair H80 cooler

Either you have a system temp problem and the CPU is throttling back, or you have some massive power saving settings going on. Open up the power control panel and make sure its set to performance and see if that helps, if not, time to check your thermals.

::EDIT:::

Are you running the latest BIOS? I tried to check ASUS' site, but the CPU and Download tabs are not loading. It could be the CPU not being recognized correctly. I would update to the latest BIOS first.

BIOS are latest and temps are very low since the cpu isnt doing much work. I reset BIOS settings to default but that didnt work. Also the multiplier in Overdrive wont go past 7 which i think is the problem because the bus speed is 200 and 200 x 7 is 1.4 ghz which is the speed the cpu is always at, even under load

I would do a Bios clear and reset at this point. If that doesn't list the CPU correctly i would refresh the Bios with the latest one just to see if that fixes it.

I would say at this point to reinstall the same revision of the BIOS that is already on there, maybe something when haywire when you flashed it, after it is flashed, clear the CMOS, then go into the BIOS and load the defaults and see if it comes up correctly.

So we can claim the motherboard is defective, since 99% of the time it isn't the CPU.

Did you buy the CPU from a reputable place? Does windows show all the cores in task manager?
