Hi, I'm looking forward to building a pc on my on, and this is my first time.
I don't know the components I need.
I want the pc for College Homework, Video Editing, and Gaming.
I want my OS on SSD because I know it helps run the device faster.
Also, my budget will be $1000-$1200 for ALL components (including case)
So, for video editing and gaming with ease, which components should I buy?

Thank You.

I would suggest waiting to build a PC as Intel's new processors will be released in about three months so it would be unwise to build a new PC right now. You should really only build a PC if you absolutely need to so if you can wait that would be the best option for you.

Here's a Rig I built up for you that's $1000

Case: NZXT Phantom 410: $100 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146087

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X79: $250 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128562

Processor: Intel 3820: $300 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115229

Video Card: Gigabyte 660 OC: $230 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125443

Cooler: Corsair H80i: $95 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181031

RAM: 8GB of XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz: $52 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233335

SSD: Samsung 840 Series 120GB: $95 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147188

Hard drive: 1TB 7200RPM Seagate: $75 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148697

Power Supply: Corsair CX600: $70 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028

Total Cost: $1267

Actually, I'm waiting anyway, I'm planning on building it this September, since that is when I will have the time/place to do it.
I'm just planning, and organizing. That is why I'm asking about the components. I will assemble the PC in September.
So, are these ALL the parts I'll be needing? if not, what else would I be needing? a sound card?
I'll be waiting for the Intel new processors anyway as you advised. I just want to know all the required components to assemble the PC, and which components are
needed to build one efficient enough to edit videos and play video games.

Thank you for your help.

Location: back on the right side of the middle of the left side YES i'm folding
plan on an operating system also, which will add another hundred +.

also I do not see a monitor, keyboard, or mouse anywhere, speakers?

there is a sound card on the motherboard, try it, if it isnt good enough then buy one.

These are all the parts for the desktop box you'll need a keyboard, mouse, and speakers too like maanajeeb said.
