I plan on upgrading my vid card from a gtx 470 to a 670 or something similar. Im wondering if I really need to upgrade my i5 760 2.8Ghz as well?
will it even make a difference?

I also plan on getting a SSD and that will be it for upgrades for awhile Im hoping.

I suppose if itll make a huge difference I can upgrade the CPU as wll.

thnx

No to all of it.

The 470 still plays very well on all screens 24" or less. You more than likely haven't found the end of that 470 yet and have yet to justify a $400 upgrade to a 670. What's your problem bro? Not hitting 2,000FPS on every game you own? Does it really matter? If you get into moving from your 1156 CPU and think any 1155 CPU is going to give you an edge in gaming, you've been misinformed.

You've heard about "bottlenecks" I assume. It's a myth and perpetuated by others that can't game or understand computers in the least. Most can really upgrade their mouse, surface, keyboard, or actual game play far before any piece of of the box needs changed out. I can still be in the top of any L4D or TF2 server on an aged i920 box. If I fall to 5th place, I never blame the machine. I grumble a bit, but it's me...not the box.

A computer will NOT fix your game play. Not with what you have listed. A GTX 260 could actually be a perk! Figure that one out...

Funny how I experienced said myth once in an upgrade.
