I was trying to see about upgrading vista to win7 and saw that win8 is $40.00. the problems is that I dont want it and they do not offer win7 anymore. My pc is broke at this time so i can get it anyway. the offer expires on the 31st.

Just like Star Trek movies, every other Windows release seems to suck. I remember they pretty much tried to give Vista and Millennium away too.

@ Ovenmaster, $83 for W7 Pro x64 is insane! That's about $60 less than anywhere else...any legit source anyway. I get the OEM branded disc, but does it also splash and OEM logo (eg, Dell, HP, Lenovo) anywhere during boot? Do you know?

[UPDATE] Not legit!

That link refers to Adobe software, not Microsoft, and it was back in April 2011. I bought my Dell-branded Win7 OEM in May 2012, 13 full months after this settlement with Adobe was announced. They're still in bidness. Every OEM OS I've ever bought since 2001 has been branded Dell or Citrix.

When I got my Dell disc, the papers included told how to use Run -> SLUI.EXE 4 and input the COA that came with the disc when asked for a proper license key. I did that and it's run fine ever since, never failing a Genuine Advantage check. When I boot my PC, there is a Dell logo above where I need to sign in.
