First of all I am sorry IF this is in the wrong place (please tell me if it is!). I am looking for a M11x R3 i7 and if it only has a 500GB HDD I am gonna upgrade it so I am looking at either a 1TB 5400RPM HDD or a 750GB 7200RPM Hybrid HDD (with 8GB of SSD Cache). I am currently using a 1TB HDD with a 128GB SSD Boot drive in my Desktop PC and I have 34GB left on the SSD and 139GB on the HDD totaling 878GB of space used. So the 1TB is technically 931GB and the 750GB is probably only like 700GB so the 1TB would be barely enough and the 750GB isn't. Its my STEAM library that is sucking up space (a little over 700GB) so What I am gonna do is use a external as well for some of my STEAM games either way. But if I have the 1TB HDD I would be able to have more with me all the time. So my big question is, is if the 750GB Hybrid HDD is a lot faster than the 1TB HDD. If someone could show the speed of the 1TB vs the 750GB I would appreciate that! Also since I am posting this I thought I might ask if anyone has a M11x R3 i7 that they would sell for about $600? I don't have all the cash now, I am just waiting for my check that I should have in about 1-2 weeks. Thanks!

Caching improves performance on things you frequently do and depending on the caching algorithm and your usage patterns, you may not see much of a benefit.

If the laptop has a USB 3.0 port, you can do what I did. Throw in an SSD and what you absolutely must have on it. Then everything else goes into a 2.5" portable.

OK! I might do that as every i7 version of the M11x R3 that I can find for sale has a 256GB SSD. I feel very odd though doing that as my $3,500 desktop has a 128GB SSD then my 11" netbook would have a 256GB SSD. Used to putting the best into my desktop. The main games I play are L4D2, RAGE, Fallout Series, Elder Scrolls games and anything else having to do with the apocalypse or zombies. Your idea though of just a SSD isn't bad. Might do that. Thanks!
