Ok, this kid posted a way to increase your internet connection by.......a lot!!!! Is he FOS, who knows. I would like to start this thread and discuss the possibilities. I myself have a 50' CAT6 arriving at my door today so what the hell, I may use the old CAT6 I am replacing to try and see if it works.

Basically, you are wrapping the old CAT6 cable around each end of the new CAT 6 cable then using electrical tape to secure. The YouTube video provides the before and after download rates. The kid says that is how the expensive hi-end cable guys are doing it.

It may all be for not but I'm off today and we'll see what happens. Maybe a member here has already gone thru this and has an answer.

FOS. Everyone knows you need to wrap the extra cable longitudinally for it to double!

Why this is FOS
  • Wrapping CAT6 around CAT6 sounds like electrical shielding of sorts, which you can do with aluminum foil.
  • The internet from the cable company, at least from what I've seen, comes out of a F Connector. It goes into the modem. So unless you're running another 100ft from the modem to the router...
  • I'm going to assume that from start to finish, the signal is digital. Even if you cleaned up the signal, your speed isn't going to improve... unless the signal was so trashed it spent 50% of the bandwidth retrying.

How this kid can make such an ass out of himself on the internet is way beyond me. The only way to boost your connection is call up the ISP and pay for more. There is no way you can get it for free...LOL!!!!
