yep... in absolute best case scenario, best I could possibly muster is about 190,000ppd to 210,000ppd, & boom 1.5 times that in a single update... its a beautiful sight!!!

Best I've seen from a single WU is about 490,000 points from AtlasFolder... he has 2 in the last 24hrs (as of this post) for 335,000+ each.

And one of those units was only about 6,400 points. It took 26 hours on the 4P board to get the big unit done. The unit it's working on now will take about 37 hours to complete. So no points today. I think the next one will be done around 5:00AM on 12/27.

Folding gods must be against me... :| problems near the beginning, problems near the end. Had an electrical surge come through the cable yesterday which fried my cable modem & my router. Fortunately my PC's are fine, but the earliest the cable company can get out while I'm home is Monday. I couldn't convince them to just leave the replacement inside my front porch  So it looks like I'm out of the race till at least Monday.

Even after everything's back up & running, the other two PC's will be gone by the 5th, so my big push is basically over... Was still fun watching the points fly & getting to see what some of the new hardware (GTX-660 & GTX-660-Ti) can do.

Fortunately, I can still get online via my Galaxy S3 & iPad, so I can at least get on line, check emails, post this update, etc... until I get my real internet back :)

Unless KingFish or MK96 have an ace hidden up their sleeve, looks like K_J_V riding on the fast track of a G34 rig will be the big winner!!!!

Hm... my last challenge ended prematurely for me due to hardware problems, & now this one... maybe third time's the charm as they say... keep an eye out, I'll think of something in the future

I love independent contractors... Got a call about an hour ago, "Hi this is David, I'm contracted through Brighthouse to replace your cable modem" so I'm thinking he wants to setup a firm appointment time for tomorrow... long story short, he's working nearby today & wants to make the swap today. I say sure I'm here all day. About 25 minutes later, I get a knock at the door, he's here :D

Does a quick check of my modem... sure as shit, it's fried. Swaps it out & tests it, it works. So far, no idea what caused the surge, he's out there now checking out the connections. Should be back in almost full swing shortly

That's great news!

I've found the people they send out in my neck of the woods to be hit or miss, one time it took me 3 tries to get someone who actually fixed intermittent connection issues I was having. I own my own modem though, the only thing that will convince me to change it would be if/when they finally roll out DOCSIS 3.0 here or if mine gets fried too. Think I got this one for like $40 from a friend who got FIOS, and I bet he got it on newegg 5+ years ago. If they'll let you use your own, you could pick one up to have a spare

In other news, I think I had maybe my first 50K point day ever yesterday (except perhaps when stats went screwy and rolled up multiple updates in one chunk), new 650 Ti for Xmas (swapped out the gt 430). Can't hold a candle to the rest of you guys though!

Contractor can't be certain, but he said that it looks like a combination of dry-rotted weather-proofing & a squirrel caused the problem, & that Brighthouse will be out later in the week to evaluate & repair...

Congrats on the milestone!!! Whether you fold 1,000 points a year, or 6 million points per day like this guy  8) , it all helps :D & I'm sure there are plenty of folks out there who wish they could match your output :!:

I've had bad luck & good luck with the contractors they've sent out over the 4 years I've had Brighthouse. Worst one took 4 months & 3 "severity upgrades" to finally get Brighthouse themselves to come out & fix the problem, & only after the last guy actually did some real testing & determined that it was the cable relay at the street that was the source of the drop-outs.

I think the team MPC has reached a new 24hr high. We always had this covered by a team member have we lost them too?

Edit:
Maybe not there yet?

8 million PPD this morning, that's a nice round (large) number! Can't remember what the last milestone was offhand

And regarding cable techs, I know what you mean chaosdsm about needing to get multiple people sent out, that's how they finally fixed my woes, I think the guy basically ended up re-wiring every connection from halfway down the block all the way through to my basement. Works like a champ now, though!

Damn dude... I gave your simian self 2 repreives & it still looks like I'm going to get there before you :P

Oh well, it's all academic anyway... K_J_V was the first place winner, and sometime this weekend MK96 should become the 2nd finisher ahead of me, then sometime late Tuesday / early Wednesday, either I'll squeek in to #100 just ahead of Kingfish, or perhaps he'll get there just before me...

Regardless of exactly how the finish goes down, it's been a nightmarishly freaky yet funtastic rollercoaster ride of a challenge I know it's not all my doing, but I'd like to think my little challenge helped to nudge us ever so slightly towards our current folding production level as a team. We started December averaging almost 6.5 million points per day, now were over 8 million points per day  We had our most productive month ever at 225 million points for December, & have seen the launch of our next major folder K_J_V with his 4P G34 6128 Magny-Cours Opteron folder.

Thank you all for participating, but please don't feel you need to stop just because the challenge is comming to an end in a few days. We still have a long way to go in the fight against Cancer, Huntingtons, Parkinsons, Alzheimers, et.al... Every little bit we do may be an important step forward in the battle to understand & hopefully eliminate these horrible diseases.

Thanks guys & happy folding!!!

Well, i've made it to position #100. It was a fun and exciting race, and even had me buy some new hardware to fuel the race. but I do think I will have to start winding down even more again(shut down the laptop a week ago). I would love to finally get a chance to play the new steam games i have accumulated over the last month to see what the new cards will do.

Hopefully i don't get sticker shock when the power bill arrives in the next few days.(but having a yearly balanced bill sure helps)

Anyone have the passkey for Rose ??? If so, please PM me with it. K_J_V & MK96 both opted out of their points prizes, so I will be folding those points & probably more for Rose :D
