And didn't MPC say that Intel was interested in making a DIY market for AIOs? Soldered CPUs on AIO motherboards make sense as AIOs can't afford the same space as a desktop.

Not true, rigghtt? As one poster put it; best ... "I'll believe it when I don't see it!"

It'll be here within 18 months, maybe 12. It's inevitable. It simply makes too much sense.

What's the advantage of going socketless when, for all intents and purposes, you have no limitations? Socketless implies there's a limitation and desktops should always represent "no limits" in computing.

I see info and scuttlebutt from Intel and AMD... but I'm starting to wonder what mobo makers are thinking and planning, and what they've been told behind the scenes that hasn't leaked out yet.
