I just bought new components. I updated a core i7 920 based machine with Ivy bridge (i7 3770k or whatever it is).
I also replaced my GTX 470 with a GTX 670. Is there anything I can recycle to use in the new build? My RAM and motherboard and processor are obviously useless, but I'm wondering if I can install both GPUs and have any benefit at all.
I'm running a dual monitor set up, one at 1920x1200, the other at 2560x1600

Thanks!

You can use it as a PhysX processor, if you play any games with it. That's about it.

It also makes for a nice space heater this time of year too. :D

Ah...Is that worth it? The 470 is super loud...do you think that it would make any sense to use it in that capacity or should I just put it in storage?

It depends if you really want PhysX and you can tolerate the cons of the part.

How do I set this up? I'd bviously like to make the 670 the GPU and the 470 the physx accel. Do I just plug them in (with the 670 closer to the cpu) ad enable it via software? How does it work?

I believe you have to install drivers for both, and then there's something in the drivers menu that will allow you to select which one you want for games and which on you want for PhysX

LatiosXT is right on 2 accounts.

is it worth it?..thats up to you.

and yes you need to install the drivers for both cards.
once you have the 470 drivers installed..open up your Nvidia control panel.

to the left click on "Configure Sli Surround Physx"

there you will beable to dedicate your 470 to physx.

just remember not all games use physx.

i'm not even sure BO 2 uses it.

haven't bought it yet..just debating.
