Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on a good bugdet notebook in the 450 - 500 dollar range? Manufacturer dosen't matter as long as it is not refurbished.

I know not to expect alot in the way of preformance but I'd prefer something with a good screen and decent speed.

Any help would be appriciated

Thanks

A quick search on Newegg given your budget for the best specs possible (which was a Core i5 processor) limited me to:

Acer Aspire
Lenovo IdeaPad G580 w/ Windows 8
Asus AX53E
Dell Inspiron 15R

Expect it all with this sizzling sale. It's a budget buster but then again it's only money. Ending the today, Lenovo is selling the Ideapad Y480 (not refurbished) at it's website for $749. Use the coupon 7DAYDEALS upon checking out. The configuration is phenomenal for the price except for one thing ... no 1080p screen, but it's only $750.

• 3rd Generation Intel Core i7-3630QM Processor (2.40GHz 6MB)
• Windows 8 64
• NVIDIA GeForce GT650M 2GB
• 8.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM 1600 MHz
• 14.0" HD Glare with integrated camera 1366x768
• Industry Standard Touchpad
• 1TB 5400 rpm
• DVD Recordable (Dual Layer)
• 6 Cell Li-Polymer
• Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200BGN
• Bluetooth Version 4.0
• One year
• JBL loudspeakers
• Integrated HD Camera
• HDMI (Out)

Worth mentioning that the dedicated GPU is the fastest available for a 14-inch laptop. Not even Alienware does better (they do as good). And it is a backlit keyboard as well.

Acer and Asus are my best choices for notebooks. They can perform like big laptops with a very cheap price.
