Ok using the build guides and BOTB list I came up with this, just wanted to make sure everything was compatible.

What are you using this computer for?

Or if you really want those parts: you need four sticks of RAM minimum for an X79 board. Don't get another dual channel kit, get something that actually comes with four sticks just to be safe.

Surfing the web of course! Just kidding, I will be using it for everything! A little HD video editing, some 3D work in 3dsmax, Photoshop/Illustrator, Android development, Chief Architect, a game every once and awhile, but mostly FaceBook

Just wanted to make sure all the parts jived and would fit in the case.

Looks like I need 4 sticks of ram, thanks. Anything else I will need to get this going. There are no computer stores around here so if I don't get it now I'll have to sit and stare at the thing until the part arrives!

I see you have a Blu-Ray drive, if you're doing HD videos, why not have the option of burning a BD video disk? Otherwise it all looks good.

What do you guys think of the Nov. Performance build? Would that be sufficient for the programs I listed?

If I went more along those lines I could upgrade my monitor also. Do you guys think that's money better spent?

As much as I like that website, I don't think it takes into account of S&H. Buy as much from one supplier as possible to minimize S&H costs.

the monitor is 200.00 cheaper on newegg.

If I hadn't spent the last day and a half looking for those prices then ya let me have it, I guess I should have put up what I've found to let you know I'm not just surfing porn while you do all the work! Working every deal I could find : $2210 with free 2 day shipping, Assasens Creed 3, Boarderlands 2 (that's counting $275 in rewards points I had saved up)

Will that effect the performance of the cooler (running backwards)? Should I get a different one, I don't think its shipped yet.

Also do I need thermal paste or will the cooler or CPU come with some?

I plan on putting up pics and reporting my progress when it starts arriving.

I don't think the push/pull configuration matters. And most coolers come with paste, but I'd rather use Arctic Silver 5.
